ML NK Cells

NK Cells

What is NK Cells?

  • A type of white blood cell (lymphocyte) – a vital element of the human body’s immune system.

  • An activated human immune cell which served as first line of defence in recognizing and attacking tumors, bacteria, viruses, and harmful cells in the body.

  • NK Cells can recognize cancerous malignant cells that are missing specific markers, which help to camouflage (hide) them from the patients’ own immune system.

  • NK Cells are simpler and faster than similar immune cells and are capable of homing into cancer cells and destroying them.
